Google Maps Now Shows You Auto Stands Location in Delhi

The Delhi government has taken a major step to make information technology easier for commuters to spot autorickshaw stands. The locations of 511 new autorickshaw stands will be integrated into Google Maps.

The main intention of this step is to reduce the congestion caused in the roads of Delhi due to a lack of marked halt-and-get stands. Notably, most of the autos are found in crowded localities which terminate up causing a traffic jam.

"The work for clearly demarcating the sites and putting signage for all the stands is nearing completion. The coordinates for all the sites take been taken and in around three weeks the stands volition appear on Google Maps. The stands will exist conspicuously demarcated," said send minister Kailash Gahlot.

As per reports, the government started the initiatives to brand this possible back in July and formed commune-level committees to spot autorickshaw stands. The control and then got passed to the Public Works Department and the Commune Magistrates to install signboards on these identified auto stands.
